The exact origins of this recipe are unknown. The running story is that it was crafted for the Queen of Hungary by a court-alchemist to preserve the queen’s youthfulness. Packed with herbs, and considering their brilliant healing properties, it’s no wonder this recipe has been used for centuries. Today, it is mainly used as a facial toner, doing everything from restoring the skin’s pH, toning, tightening pores, soothing itchy (and acne-prone) skin, smoothening skin texture and protecting it from infections.
